The Problem —

Sleep disorders are the most common health problem in the United States. The National Sleep Foundation reports that 64% of Americans experience symptoms of sleep disorders on a regular basis. A growing body of research indicates that sleep disorders are implicated in a wide range of illnesses including depression, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and cancer. Excessive sleepiness is also a major cause of accidents and impaired work performance.
